Merge Poker Network Review

Compare merge poker network sites to find the best merge poker skins for you!

The Merge Gaming Network took a significant hit to traffic when Lock Poker left to purchase the Cake Poker Network (now called Revolution Gaming). However, they are still the 7th largest poker network (measured by average daily traffic) and have some of the best poker rooms, most of which allow online poker for US players. Traffic peaks much later in the day than other networks (11pm - 5am UTC), making this an ideal network for players in North, Central and South America, or for Europeans who play when normal people are sleeping!

The layout is clean, the navigation logical, and information loads quickly. Every table has a dropdown menu allowing players to manage open windows by tiling them, cascading them, or adding them to a grid.

Merge Cash Games

The Merge Gaming network always has plenty of online poker for money at micro and small stakes No Limit Texas Hold'em. However, players interested in playing poker online at full table stakes larger than ¢25/¢50 either need to log on during peak hours, or choose another network. Even during peak hours, it's unusual for there to be a full table game higher than $1/$2.

If you are interested in short-handed No Limit Hold'em, Merge Gaming always has plenty of active cash poker games with stakes up to ¢50/$1 (higher during peak hours). There is also decent activity for short-handed Pot Limit Omaha.

The Merge Gaming Network offers a very competitive rake structure for all stake ranges and table sizes for no limit and pot limit poker, and is especially competitive at stakes up to ¢5/¢10. Players who prefer fixed limit holdem should probably find another site due to limited activity and higher than average rake at most stakes.

Merge Tournaments

Most online multiplayer poker tournaments offered on the Merge Gaming Network include a guaranteed prize pool. Although the tournaments get a high number of players (typically 50 to a couple hundred), the number is not so high as to create ridiculously top heavy payouts. As a result, the variation in your results is reasonable.

The fee structure is competitive for tournaments with a buy-in of more than $1. On each Merge Gaming poker room, tournament players can use their VIP poker points to buy directly into almost any tournament.

Merge tournament breaks are coordinated to occur 5 minutes to the hour every hour, which is convenient if you play multiple tournaments simultaneously.

Merge Gaming Sit & Go's

The Merge Gaming Network offers almost exclusively No Limit Hold'em Sit-and-Go tournaments, although they do offer full table Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Lo, which gets activity for buy-ins from $1.10 to $11. Formats include knockout and double or nothing, as well as regular sit & go's.

For short-handed play, Merge Gaming has regular activity for buy-ins from ¢11 to $60, but only for regular No Limit Hold'em. Heads-up SNG poker enthusiasts can engage in regular matches from $1.10 buy-in up to $215. Higher stakes are offered for both short-handed and heads-up play, but rarely see any activity outside of peak hours.

Sit & Go fees are extremely competitive on the Merge Gaming Network, especially for full table and heads-up.
