bwin in the USA
Unfortunately, players who reside in the US cannot play poker with bwin. In fact, as of October 2006, US players cannot even make bets on bwin due to the signing of the Safe Port Act. If you live in the US, check out our our picks for the the best US online poker sites.
Residents of New Jersey can play poker on PartyPoker's New Jersey poker site: nj.partypoker.com. Although bwin and PartyPoker merged, this network is separate, so you will only be playing against other players in New Jersey. As a result, the traffic on the Party/Borgata network is very low.
BWIN Poker Rakeback Review
We do not recommend playing online poker with BWIN. Instead we strongly recommend that you download Americas Cardroom. Although the Winning Poker Network has slightly less traffic than the Bwin.Party network, Americas Cardroom more than make up for this with significantly lower rake and fees, and much higher rewards.
Please disable Ad-Block on this site if you are unable to see the banner above
If site traffic is your primary concern, then you should instead download PokerStars. Although the rewards on PokerStars are not nearly as good as those offered by Americas Cardroom, they have about 5 times the amount of active poker players as BWIN!
To find out why we no longer recommend playing online poker with BWIN, we suggest you read the entire review. However, if you want to play poker online with BWIN anyway, you can do so by clicking on the download button below:
The main component of the bwin poker rewards program is the b'inside loyalty rewards. Poker players on bwin earn 1 status point for every €0.50 paid in rake or tournament fees. Players who earn enough status points in a month gain status levels (Green, White and Yellow). Higher status probably results in better conversion of points into cash rewards and cash bonuses, but we cannot confirm this because bwin stupidly lists the same price for each reward for all 3 levels on their website. We have contacted bwin multiple times to try to track this information down and have yet to receive a response. Until we hear otherwise, we have to assume that there is no advantage to increasing your status level.
Unlike most rewards programs, you cannot purchase cash rewards from bwin, but instead must purchase cash bonuses...which must then be earned! That's right, the b'inside rewards program makes you earn the opportunity to earn a reward. What's worse is that the overall value of b'inside cash bonuses is pretty mediocre (8 - 16.7% rakeback). It gets even worse if you're a casual player because the lowest cost cash bonus costs 1,000 status points, which requires you to generate €500 in rake or fees and offers a measly 8% rakeback! Although bwin offers tournament tickets for as little as 20 points, these are of little use to poker cash game players and only offer a measly 4.9% rakeback.
Since most bwin poker promotions run for a limited time, it's impossible for us to keep up to date with a detailed analysis on each of them. As such, our analysis of bwin's overall rewards program is based on promotions offered during a specific week. While the individual promotions will change, we assume that the overall value to you will not. That is, if a promotion is worth approximately 12% rakeback, then we expect that whatever promotion replaces it will also be worth approximately 12% rakeback. However, we don't just do a single analysis for an "average" player, but instead consider many different factors, such as whether you prefer to play cash, tournaments or sit-and-go's, as well as the stakes you play, and the amount of rake or fees you generate. Unfortunately, when bwin replace a promotion that offers 12% rakeback to casual cash game players, they could replace it with a promotion that offers 12% rakeback to hardcore tournament players. To them, the cost may be the same, but to you, the value of new promotions could be significantly different depending on your preferences.

One of the best promotions is the bwin Happy Hour, which occurs twice each day (from 18:00 to 19:00 CEST and 23:00 to 00:00 CEST). During these hours, players who earn a certain number of points are rewarded with a tournament ticket. Although this reward is of little use to players who prefer to play cash games, for tournament players this reward is the equivalent of 39% rakeback. That is a very substantial return, especially for casual tournament poker players who only need to earn a single status point (€0.50 in rake or fees) to earn an 11¢ tournament ticket. Note that the 39% rakeback is only during the Happy Hour, and only if you generate exactly the number of points to earn a ticket. For example, if you earn 4 status points during Happy Hour, your 55¢ tournament ticket reward would represent 24.4% rakeback. If you play for 3 hours (1 during Happy Hour), and earn 4 status points each hour, then your 55¢ ticket ends up being worth 8.1% rakeback.
For cash game players, bwin offers The Race, which is actually 3 different rake races for 3 ranges of no limit cash game stakes:
$750 prize pool for 1¢/2¢ to 2¢/5¢
$1,250 prize pool for 10¢/25¢ to 25¢/50¢
$2,000 prize pool for 50¢/$1 to $2/$5
While the prize pools are small compared to other rake races, it is also far easier to get into the money with bwin's races. While you cannot earn more than 100% equivalent rakeback like you can with Americas Cardroom's rake race, these races can result in a significant boost to your overall bwin poker rakeback rewards, especially when you combine them with other promotion rewards. However, these races are not an ongoing promotion, so you cannot rely on these rewards every week.
Bwin also offer a Daily Click Card promotion. Simply log in each day, opt-in for the promotion (which must be done daily), and click a card to receive a prize. The most common prize is an 11¢ Rope-A-Dope tournament ticket, which is pretty low value and insignificant to more serious players. However, for players looking to build a bankroll from scratch, the Daily Click Card is an amazing promotion! Higher value prizes include a $5 casino bonus, $11 Rope-A-Dope ticket and $3 cashout restricted bonus.
Bwin offer 2 daily freerolls with prize pools of $50 and $100. On Saturday and Sunday, the $50 freeroll is replaced with a $250 freeroll. bwin also offer plenty of "cent-rolls". These are like normal poker freerolls, except that they cost 1¢ to enter. The entry fee is insignificant compared to the prize pools, but it is actually a great idea that benefits both bwin as well as the players. For bwin, it encourages players to at least make a minimum deposit. For you, the advantage is that this minimal entry fee dramatically reduces the number of entrants. Most sites that offer hourly freerolls end up with an average value of 2-3¢. However, the cent-rolls at bwin typically have an average value of 10-15¢...and they're available every 30 minutes! You're essentially paying 1¢ to eliminate 80% of the competition! Additionally, to qualify for the Bankroll Booster freerolls, you must earn 2 status points during the previous week.
Another good promotion for cash game players is the Friday Frenzy. For every 5 hands you play each Friday where you bet a minimum of 10¢, you earn 1 point. The top 500 players share a $1,250 prize pool, with rewards ranging from 50¢ to $100.

FastForward players can also participate in the FastForward Challenge, which is available for 6-handed play for stakes from 2¢/5¢ to 50¢/$1. Players who earn a minimum number of status points each day for 4 days in a week earn a cash bonus. Earn that many status points for 7 days in a week and get an even bigger bonus. As with the b'inside loyalty program, you don't actually earn a reward, but rather a bonus, which must then be earned. Each $1 bonus requires you to earn 10 points to clear.

bwin also have a Sit & Go Challenge, which is exactly the same as the FastForward Challenge, except of course that you must earn the points playing Sit & Go tournaments. They also have a Cash Game Challenge, which is also the same, except that it has additional levels.
Individually, most of these promotions are pretty weak. However, when you combine them, along with the incredibly weak b'inside loyalty rewards program, bwin actually ends up being one of the best online poker sites, but only for very specific players. Even worse, it changes from week to week and month to month, so BWIN might be perfect for you today, only to be terrible for you tomorrow. You are far better off joining a site who's promotions are always going to be good for your player profile!

In addition to being able to play directly from within your web browser with bwin Instant Player, you can also download bwin Poker software specifically for Mac.
bwin Mobile Poker Download
bwin offer poker apps for both Android and iOS (iPhone and iPad).
That is, a $100 bonus would be released in increments of $10, but a $50 bonus would be released in increments of $5. You must earn 6 times as many points as the bonus increment (i.e. 60 points to release a $10 bonus), which works out to 30% equivalent rakeback. You have 60 days to earn the full bonus, and to qualify for a poker sign-up bonus, you must make your first deposit within 60 days of when you register a poker account with bwin.
In addition to the traditional poker sign-up bonus, bwin also offer a series of 13 Missions:
Getting started Mission: play 5 hands in any cash game and win a hand to receive a $0.11 ticket for an SNG or MTT
bwin Cash Game Get Started Missions
Cash Combination: play 10 hands each of No Limit Hold'em, Fixed Limit Hold'em and Fast Forward to earn $1.00
Cash Conquest: win a cash game hand at showdown using both cards with AA, KK, QQ, AK or AQ to earn $1.50
Cash Dash: play 50 Fast Forward hands each day for 3 straight days, and win 1 pot to earn $2.00
Cash Champion: play 1 cash game hand a day for 3 straight days, and 250 hands in total, and win with 3-of-a-kind to earn $2.50
bwin Sit & Go Get Started Missions
Sit and Go Go Go: play a Sit & Go, win a hand, and finish in the money to earn a $0.55 ticket

bwin Poker Tournament Get Started Missions

Multi-Tasker: play 2 MTTs*/day for 3 days straight, knockout 2 players in the same tournament*, and finish in the money once to earn a $5.50 ticket
*To qualify, the tournament cannot be a freeroll and must have a minimum of 25 players.
Although these rewards are pretty insignificant for serious online poker players, they can represent a nice bonus to newer players who are trying to build a bankroll from very limited funds. However, unlike the Party Poker Get Started Missions, these missions will not fund themselves. That is, you cannot complete the second mission using the rewards from the first.
Although we have numbered the missions from #1-13, once you complete the Getting Started Mission (#1), you can choose to start at #2, #6, or #10. That way players who are not interested in playing cash games can jump straight to the missions they are most interested in.
In addition to these 13 Missions, bwin offers another 4 missions that are much harder to complete, but offer better rewards:
bwin Cash Game Missions
These two missions can be completed on any Holdem cash game tables (excluding heads-up). Each mission rewards $25 upon completion, and players can only work on a single mission at a time:
Win a hand at showdown with every pocket pair, in order, from AA to 22.
Win a hand at showdown with every hand rank, in order, from 1 pair to a straight flush.
bwin Sit-and-Go Missions
Party Poker also offer 2 missions for Sit-and-Go players. Players can only work on a single mission at a time:
$10 bonus reward: Play 3 SNGs/day for 3 days, eliminate 1 player each day, and win a hand at showdown with AA, KK, QQ, JJ, and TT as hole cards.
$25 bonus + $5 cash reward: Play 5 SNGs/day for 5 days, eliminate 5 players each day, and win a hand at showdown with 22, 55, 77, 88, and 99 as hole cards.

Maximizing Your BWIN Poker Rakeback
If you're looking to maximize your rakeback, then your best option is to play on a poker site that offers far better rewards than those offered by BWIN. Our top pick for almost all players is Americas Cardroom. Not only does ACR offer far better rewards, but they also charge less rake and tournament fees as well.
Please disable Ad-Block on this site if you are unable to see the banner above
If you are going to play online poker with BWIN, then you should play as many freerolls as possible. However, although bwin offer an incredible number of freerolls, most are pretty low value. bwin's freerolls are really only ideal for players who are trying to build a bankroll from scratch. However, even semi-professional players will find the Bankroll Booster and Live the Dream Mission tournaments worth doing as these offer great value!
Tournament and SNG players on bwin can buy tournament tickets for as few as 20 market points (for a 55¢ ticket). However, if you think you will eventually earn 1,000 or more market points, then save up because the cash bonuses are far more rewarding than buying tournament tickets. Tournament tickets typically reward $1 for every 36.4 market points (4.9% rakeback), whereas the worst cash bonus (€40 for 1,000 points) is equal to 8% rakeback. Unfortunately, bwin limits the amount of cash bonuses you can purchase each month. However, unless you are earning so many points that you can purchase every single cash bonus reward, you are better off saving any leftover points for a bigger cash bonus in the future.
For the rake races, it is obviously much easier to finish in the money if you are playing at the top end of the stake range (i.e. 5¢/10¢ for the $750 race). However, do not increase the stakes you play unless you are comfortable doing so. These races are a nice bonus for players who are already generating that much rake, but the rewards are not so high that they are worth chasing.
The bwin Happy Hour promotion is definitely worth playing, and it is even worth playing slighly higher buy-ins to win the next highest reward. An additional 39% rakeback (in the form of a free tournament ticket) can have a significant impact on your weekly and monthly winnings.
Make sure you always get your daily bwin Click Card! Even if you are not playing poker that day, simply log on, opt-in and click on your reward. Even if you consider the typical 11¢ tournament ticket not worth your while, it is still worth taking the chance to win the $11 ticket. If the 11¢ ticket isn't worth your time, then simply ignore it.
For the FastForward, Sit & Go, and Cash Game Challenges, do not push yourself to play 7 days a week if that is not something you normally do. Although this reward is a nice bonus, it's not so nice that you want to drastically alter your playing habits to chase. For example, to earn 100 points/day, you must generate $56 in rake. If you normally play 5 days/week, then you would need to generate an additional $112 across 2 additional days just to earn an extra $20 bonus.
The Getting Started Missions are definitely worth doing for casual and enthusiast level players. However, do not bother playing formats you are not comfortable with - they are not that rewarding. That is, if you prefer to play cash games, then just do the initial mission, plus the 4 missions for cash games, but do not bother with the Sit & Go or MTT missions.
bwin Mission Rewards
We have analysed each mission to determine which is easier to complete.
bwin Cash Game Missions
Do not chase Cash Game mission rewards! Simply activate a mission, and let them complete naturally. If you focus on trying to win with specific hands, or slow-playing big hands to ensure you win at showdown, you could end up losing more money than the missions are worth!
Pocket Pairs - This should take approximately 17,000 hands to complete.
Final Hands - This mission should take approximately 50,000 hands to complete.

Both cash game missions reward $25, so obviously you should start with the easiest mission (pocket pairs) first. The stakes you play will obviously have a huge impact on the average rake you can expect to pay to complete each of these missions. As you can see from the table, these missions are not worth chasing. Instead, think of them as a nice little bonus if you are already planning to play cash games. If you do not typically play cash games, then do not do so just to try to complete the cash game missions!
Do not jump back and forth between missions! You may be tempted to give up on a mission once it gets difficult, and start knocking off the easy steps on the other mission. However, you do not get paid for completing steps so all this does is delay the time before you get your first reward!
bwin Sit & Go Missions
If you plan to play 5 or more Sit-and-Go's every day for 5 days in a row, then start with that mission, because its rewards are better ($25 bonus, plus $5 cash). If either 5 SNGs/day, or playing for 5 days straight is a challenge, then start with the other mission (3 SNGs/day for 3 days).
Unlike the cash game rewards, bwin's Sit-and-Go missions are absolutely worth doing, even if you do not regularly play SNGs! Playing 3 x $1.10 SNGs/day for 3 days costs just $9.90 and rewards $10 in cash bonuses. However, the actual cost is just 90¢; the other $9 is invested in the prize pool, and if you should be planning to finish in the money in at least one of these SNGs! Playing 5 x $1.10 SNGs/day for 5 days costs $27.50 ($2.50 actual cost) and rewards $25 in cash bonuses, plus $5 cash.
You may need to play an extra couple of SNGs to complete the daily hand requirements. If you do not typically play SNGs, then go ahead and chase these mission requirements (that is, try extra hard to win with the required pocket pairs to reduce the number of SNGs you must play each day).
If you do not regularly play SNGs, then start with the 3 SNGs/day mission. If things go well and you are able to profit from the combined SNGs and mission rewards, then move on to the 5 SNGs/day mission.
